Internship Opportunities at SPAACES

SPAACES is a nonprofit contemporary art gallery and studio collective in Sarasota dedicated to advancing contemporary visual art and supporting professional artists. Through exhibitions, affordable artist studios, and community programs, we create opportunities for artists while engaging the public with fresh, thought-provoking artistic experiences.

Our internships offer students a chance to gain real-world experience in arts administration, marketing, and curatorial work within a professional yet welcoming arts environment.

Educational Partnerships

We are proud to partner with local institutions such as the Ringling College of Art and Design, New College of Florida, and the University of South Florida. Through these partnerships, SPAACES hosts two long-term unpaid interns at different times of the year. This symbiotic relationship enriches students’ educational experiences while contributing to SPAACES’s dynamic, learning-focused environment.

Interns play a vital role in the daily operations and creative initiatives at SPAACES. Opportunities may include:

Arts Administration: Assist with planning exhibitions, managing logistics, and coordinating events.

Marketing & Communications: Support social media efforts, help design promotional materials, and assist with public outreach.

Curatorial Support: Work closely with our curatorial team to research artists, help prepare exhibition materials, and assist during installations.
